You’ve heard it before, “the early bird gets the worm”, but what if you’re just not one of those early birds? Sometimes it can feel almost impossible to start your day without feeling tired, rushed and just a little bit stressed. If you’re always waking up on the wrong side of the bed, then try some of these simple hacks to boss your morning routine. 

Choose your outfit the night before

If you spend half an hour every morning trying to find the perfect outfit for the day then try and plan it out before you go to bed at night. This means less time and stress spent rummaging around your wardrobe for your fave jeans and more time to enjoy your morning coffee before you get up. 

Snooze ya lose

We all know one person who can snooze their alarm for hours which is one of the worst ways to wake up in the morning! Hitting snooze will leave you feeling more groggy for the day ahead and can even reduce your concentration. Try and get up with your first alarm and you’ll wake up feeling much more refreshed.

Eat a healthy breakfast

Make sure to set some time aside to eat a healthy breakfast and start your day on the right track. Choose a protein based breakfast like scrambled eggs or greek yogurt with berries. Make your bed

It may seem silly but getting into the habit of making your bed every morning will help start your day right. Simple tasks  like this help set up your routine and means you’ve achieved one thing if nothing else!

Stop the scroll

We know how it goes, your alarm goes off and its straight on Instagram to see what’s been going on while you snoozed. Try and cut down your screen time and focus on something productive or creative to start your day. Prep your lunch

If you take a packed lunch to work or uni then do all your prep the night before. This will stop you stressing in the kitchen 10 minutes before you have to leave the house and you know you’ve got something tasty to look forward to in the afternoon.

Let the sunshine in

Waking up is so much easier with the help of some light. Avoid black out blinds and open the curtains as soon as you wake up to let the light in. In the dark winter months invest in a wake-up light alarm clock and you’ll notice a huge difference!
